Research has shown that the design and management of school grounds influences children’s attitudes and behaviour. Using the school grounds is a step towards encouraging pupils to look closely at their own environment, assessing how it is used and how it could be improved. We all know that school grounds can be a wonderful outdoor classroom, with opportunities for involving all National Curriculum subjects.
As many schools are now implementing wildlife areas/forest gardens we are happy to provide bench seating, ranch fencing and many other items. With this area in particular, we provided a log store for their fire pit, plus a beautifully engraved storage unit for each class to keep their children’s mini beast storage boxes, magnifying glasses, nets etc.
